IJCI may collect names, email addresses, institutional affiliations, academic degrees, professional positions, specialties, ORCID identifiers, curriculum vitae, account information, correspondence, manuscript files, peer-review reports, editorial decisions, declarations, and other information supplied in connection with journal activities.

Technical information necessary to operate and secure the website may also be processed, including authentication information, logs, browser or device information, and necessary cookies or local-storage data.

Information is used to administer submissions, peer review, editorial appointments, reviewer applications, publication production, author and reviewer accounts, communications, research-integrity investigations, corrections or retractions, security, and other functions necessary to operate a scholarly journal.

Unpublished manuscripts, reviewer identities, review reports, editorial notes, and related correspondence are confidential. IJCI uses double-blind peer review for externally reviewed scholarly content. Information is shared with editors, reviewers, authors, service providers, or other parties only as necessary for the editorial process, integrity review, legal obligations, or journal operations.

Authors are responsible for removing unnecessary identifiers from submitted material and for obtaining all required ethics approvals and informed consent. Identifiable clinical information should be submitted only when scientifically necessary and appropriately authorized. The journal may request evidence of consent or ethics review but should not receive unnecessary patient identifiers.

IJCI may use third-party infrastructure for hosting, authentication, data storage, email delivery, security, analytics necessary for site operation, and other technical functions. Providers may process information only to the extent required to provide those services or meet applicable legal obligations.

The journal may use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, session management, security, preferences, and reliable website operation. IJCI does not use journal-account information for cross-site behavioral advertising.

Account and operational records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for journal administration, security, legal and ethical obligations, and dispute or integrity review.

Submission, peer-review, editorial-decision, correction, retraction, authorship, and research-integrity records may need to be retained for extended periods or permanently where necessary to preserve an auditable scholarly record. Published-article metadata and formal post-publication notices are part of the scholarly record and are not treated as ordinary account data.

IJCI uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect journal data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and users should protect their account credentials and notify the journal of suspected unauthorized access.

Because IJCI serves an international scholarly community and uses internet-based infrastructure, information may be processed or stored in countries other than the user's country of residence, subject to applicable contractual, technical, and legal safeguards.

Users may contact the Editorial Office to request access to or correction of personal information and, where applicable, deletion or restriction. Requests may be limited when retention is necessary to preserve the integrity of peer review and the scholarly record, meet legal obligations, prevent fraud or misconduct, or protect the rights of others.

IJCI does not sell personal information. IJCI does not currently accept paid advertising or use personal information collected through journal accounts, submissions, or peer review for cross-site behavioral advertising.

This policy may be updated as the journal's services, infrastructure, or legal obligations change. Material revisions will be reflected on this page with an updated version and effective date. Continued use of journal services after an update is subject to the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
